the heedless one, who does not what they say,
like a cowboy counting other’s cattle,
does not partake of the ascetic life.
“Even though reciting only few scriptures,
but living in accordance with Dhamma,
abandoning greed, hate and delusion,
the one understanding aright, with mind
released, unattached here and hereafter,
surely partakes of the ascetic life.” Dhp 19, 20
Na takkaro hoti naro pamatto;
Gopova gāvo gaṇayaṁ paresaṁ,
Na bhāgavā sāmaññassa hoti.
“Appampi ce saṁhita bhāsamāno,
Dhammassa hoti anudhammacārī;
Rāgañca dosañca pahāya mohaṁ,
Sammappajāno suvimuttacitto;
Anupādiyāno idha vā huraṁ vā,
Sa bhāgavā sāmaññassa hoti.”
နွားရှင်တို့အား နွားတို့ကို ရေတွက် အပ်နှင်းလိုက်ရသော နွားကျောင်းသားသည် နွားနို့အရသာကို မခံစားရသကဲ့သို့၊ နိဗ္ဗာန်ရောက်သည်အထိ အကျိုးစီးပွါးနှင့်စပ်သော ပိဋကတ်သုံးပုံဟူသော ဘုရားစကားတော်ကို များစွာပြောဟောနေသော်လည်း မကျင့်မကြံ မေ့လျော့ပေါ့တန်နေသောသူသည် ပြုထိုက်သည်ကို ပြုသည်မမည်၊ မဂ်ဖိုလ်အရသာကို မခံစားရ။
နိဗ္ဗာန်ရောက်သည်အထိ အကျိုးစီးပွါးနှင့်စပ်သော ပိဋကတ်သုံးပုံဟူသော ဘုရားစကားတော်ကို အနည်းငယ်မျှပင် ပြောဟောနေပါသော်လည်း တရားအားလျော်သောအကျင့်ကို ကျင့်လေ့ရှိသူဖြစ်ခဲ့မူ ရာဂ ဒေါသ မောဟကို ပယ်ပြီးလျှင် ကောင်းစွာ အပြားအားဖြင့် သိသည်ဖြစ်၍ (ကိလေသာတို့မှ) လွတ်သော စိတ်ရှိသည် ဖြစ်လျက် ဤလောက၌လည်းကောင်း၊ တမလွန်လောက၌လည်းကောင်း စွဲလမ်းမှု မရှိတော့ပြီ။ ထိုသူသည်သာ မဂ်ဖိုလ်အရသာကို ခံစားရ၏။
Không hành trì, phóng dật;
Như kẻ chăn bò người,
Không phần Sa môn hạnh.”
“Dầu nói ít kinh điển,
Nhưng hành pháp, tùy pháp,
Từ bỏ tham, sân, si,
Tỉnh giác, tâm giải thoát,
Không chấp thủ hai đời,
Dự phần Sa môn hạnh.”
放逸不實行，
如牧算他牛，
不入真沙門。
雖誦經典少，舉止遵法行，
具足正智識，棄滅貪瞋癡，
善淨心解脫，捨離此世欲，
此世或他世，入真沙門列。
